Microchip Technology MCP8025A Three-phase Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor Gate Drivers with key-off sleep mode are power modules designed for motor current monitoring. These gate drivers integrate various features including key-off sleep mode, a LIN transceiver, a buck voltage regulator, an over-temperature sensor, and an operational amplifier. The MCP8025A gate drivers consist of phase comparator and multiplexer that allow for hardware communication detection. The neutral simulator helps in communication detection without a neutral tap in the motor.
The MCP8025A DC motor gate drivers feature automatic thermal shutdown, shoot-through protection, independent input control, and dominate state timeout. These gate drivers implement a buck converter to deliver 750mW of power for powering a companion microcontroller. The MCP8025A gate drivers are available in 4-lead 5 x 5 QFN and 48-lead 7 x 7 TQFP packages and operate at -40°C to 150°C temperature range.
